Referral Program Policy

Version: 1.0

Effective date: 22 June 2026

1. Purpose and overview

The WattSwap "Refer & Earn" referral program (the "Program") rewards existing WattSwap users ("Referrers") for introducing new customers who become WattSwap charging hosts. When a person you refer ("Referee") buys an eligible WattSwap device and completes host setup, you may earn a cashback reward credited to your WattSwap wallet.

By participating, you agree to this Policy, our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and any campaign-specific terms presented at the time of referral.

2. Key definitions

  • Referrer: An existing WattSwap account holder who shares their personal referral code or link.
  • Referee: A new customer who places a qualifying order using a valid Referrer code/link.
  • Referral code/link: The unique, personal identifier issued to each Referrer in the WattSwap app.
  • Qualifying order: A confirmed, fully paid purchase of an eligible device that is not cancelled, refunded, or returned.
  • Host setup: Successful installation and commissioning of the device, verified by WattSwap (for example, via installation completion / happy-code verification).
  • Cashback reward: The incentive amount payable to the Referrer for a successful, verified referral.

3. Eligibility

Referrer

  • Must hold an active WattSwap account in good standing.
  • Must complete identity (KYC) verification before any payout can be released.
  • Must provide a valid payout destination (WattSwap wallet by default, or bank/UPI details where bank payout is selected) before the first payout.

Referee

  • Must be a new WattSwap customer who is not already a registered host.
  • Must apply the Referrer's code/link at the time of order; codes cannot be added after an order is placed.
  • Must complete the device purchase and host setup for the referral to qualify.

4. Cashback rewards

  • Referrers can earn cashback of up to ₹2,000 per successful referral, calculated as up to 10% of the eligible device purchase value.
  • The exact reward depends on the specific device/SKU purchased and any campaign in effect at the time of the qualifying order.
  • There is no cap on the number of friends you may refer; each successful, verified referral is rewarded separately.
  • Reward amounts and rates are configured by WattSwap and may change from time to time. The amount applicable to a referral is the amount in effect when the qualifying order is placed.

5. How a referral is processed

  1. Share: The Referrer shares their personal code/link from the WattSwap app.
  2. Purchase: The Referee places a qualifying order using that code/link.
  3. Setup: The Referee completes host installation, which WattSwap verifies.
  4. Review: The referral moves to review and is subject to WattSwap approval and anti-fraud checks.
  5. Payout: On approval, and once the Referrer's KYC is complete, the cashback is credited to the Referrer's WattSwap wallet (or paid via the selected bank/UPI method).

6. Payout terms

  • Cashback is credited to the Referrer's WattSwap wallet by default. Bank/UPI payout may be available where selected and where valid details are provided.
  • No payout is released until the referral is approved and the Referrer has completed KYC verification.
  • Rewards are linked to the verified Referrer account and are non-transferable.
  • WattSwap may withhold or delay a payout pending verification, dispute resolution, or fraud review.

7. Exclusions and clawback

  • Self-referrals, referrals between accounts controlled by the same person, and referrals to existing hosts are not eligible.
  • Orders that are cancelled, refunded, returned, charged back, or that fail host setup do not qualify.
  • Referrals obtained through spam, misrepresentation, fake accounts, bots, or any abuse of the Program are void.
  • WattSwap may reverse, deduct, or recover (including from your wallet balance) any cashback that was credited in error or that later becomes ineligible.

8. Taxes

Cashback rewards may be subject to applicable taxes, including tax deducted at source (TDS) where required by law. Referrers are responsible for any personal tax obligations arising from rewards received. WattSwap may deduct or report amounts as required by applicable regulations.

9. Changes to the Program

WattSwap may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Program, change reward amounts and eligibility rules, or update this Policy at any time, with or without prior notice. Material changes take effect when published on this page. WattSwap's determination on eligibility, qualification, and payouts is final.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

This Policy is governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable consumer law, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction over any disputes arising from the Program.
